How it works
TikTok Shop's US referral fee is a percentage of what the customer pays plus any platform discount, minus tax. Tax isn't part of the fee base, so there is no tax input here.
Most categories pay 6%. TikTok lists 5% for some fine-jewelry and Pre-Owned categories, and Pre-Owned and Collectibles pay 3% on any part of a sale over $10,000.
Creator affiliate commissions, ads and any refund fees are not included; add them as other costs.
The formula
- Fee base = customer payment + platform discount − tax (customer payment includes the shipping they pay)
- Referral fee = category rate × fee base
- Pre-Owned and Collectibles: 3% on the part of the base over $10,000
- Profit = item price + shipping charged − referral fee − label − item cost − other costs
How to use this calculator

- Add any platform-funded discount.
- Enter your label and item costs.
Worked example: a $40 item with $5 shipping
- Fee base: $40 + $5 = $45 (tax is left out).
- Referral fee at 6%: 0.06 × $45 = $2.70.
- Payout: $45 − $2.70 = $42.30.
- With a $6 label and a $12 item cost, profit is about $24.30. A 10% creator commission on $40 would cut that by another $4. Rough estimate, not a guarantee.
